28th October

I have two pieces of homework to go. I have tomorrow off. Thursday is NaNoWriMo....

WHOO!!!

:3
Last night I wrote a summary for my novel, and managed to come up with a new title with the help of somebody on the NaNoWriMo boards. Instead of being called Roxanne, it is now something entirely different. I made a new, simpler banner too :D

The new title is Balancing Act, and the summary goes something like this:

In Roxanne's family, people don't ask questions. Life is lived, money is made, and they eat food every night- what more could a growing girl want? In one word: Everything. Growing up in a whore-house in the city centre of Heylyn Falls, Roxanne's upbringing leaves much to be desired. Her adoptive mother, Rebeka, seems to think that Roxanne should be the next Queen of the Harlotry. Roxanne has other ideas.

After an argument that leaves her head reeling, Roxanne decides to run away, once and for all, but little does she know that her life, in all it's unstable glory, is about to get a hell of a lot worse. On her quest to find her birth mother whom she knows next to nothing of, Roxanne will find herself walking the tightrope, swinging with the trapeze artists of the era, and confined to a tiny prison cell all within just a few short years. And this will leave her wondering: is it really worth it?

That is, until she meets her mother's old employer.

Madam Whittle; dancer, lover, fighter, and owner of Madam Whittle's Famous Portellan Burlesque House. Now what?

Don't ask me why it's in the third person, I don't know why... Especially because the story is in first person. Oh well... and I think I sorted out my dedications too.

NaNoWriMo countdown: 3 days to go!!! :D

About Me

My Photo
Name: Kitty Taylor
Location: Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom

I'm a 23 year old female, who spends much too much of her time online, and in the book store. I'm in love with writing, and reading and anything mildly creative, really. In the future I'd like to write professionally, because it's something that I know would be perfect for me, but until I come up with best selling material that will keep me in the moneys, I think I'll just head for whatever I can get. Got contacts in the writing business? Let me know, I'd love to learn more about it.

"Come on babe

Why don't we paint the town?

And all that Jazz

I'm gonna rouge my knees

And roll my stockings down

And all that jazz

Start the car

I know a whoopee spot

Where the gin is cold

But the piano's hot

It's just a noisy hall

Where there's a nightly brawl

And all

That

Jazz

Skit two!

And all that Jazz

Hotshot!

Whoopee!

And all that Jazz

Slick your hair

And wear your buckle shoes

And all that Jazz

I hear that Father Dip

Is gonna blow the blues

And all that Jazz

Hold on, hon

We're gonna bunny hop

I bought some aspirin

Down at United Drug

In case you shake apart

And want a brand new start

To do that-

Jazz

Find a flask

We're playing fast and loose

And all that jazz

Right up here

Is where I store the juice

And all that jazz

Come on, babe

We're gonna brush the sky

I bet you lucky Lindy

Never flew so high

'Cause in the stratosphere

How could he lend an ear

To all that Jazz?

Oh, you're gonna see your sheba shimmy shake

And all that jazz

Oh, she's gonna shimmy 'till her garters break

And all that jazz

Show her where to park her girdle

Oh, her mother's blood'd curdle

And If she hears her baby squeal

It's For all that jazz

And all that jazz

And all that jazz

Come on babe

Why don't we paint

The town?

And all that jazz

I'm gonna

Rouge my knees

And roll my

Stockings down

And all that jazz

Start the car

I know a whoopee spot

Where the gin is cold

But the piano's hot

It's just a noisy hall

Where there's a nightly brawl

And all that-

Jazz

No, I'm no one's wife

But, oh, I love my life

And all that Jazz!

That Jazz!"
